After spending all of my time writing articles for clients, this is my first "real blog." Welcome!
I write on a large variety of subject matter, and will diversify into different blogs for some of those subjects including the Oakland Raiders, disc golf, health and wellness, and travel, with the main blog for latest writing ventures and perhaps interesting and important items in the news. But I won't bore you with that today.
To start, I'm amazed and grateful to be where I'm at today. Just a few years ago, I made a 100-mile round trip commute to work and back every day in Colorado, and dreamed of being able to write full time instead of working in the corporate world, but at the time it seemed nearly impossible.
I pictured the life I wanted, and today I'm living (almost all) of my dream. My job is writing every day, and I've got the ocean just outside my door. There were quite a few steps I took on the way to get here, but I made it happen by just believing, in addition to a little hard work.
On the way toward my eventual goal, I met some Couch Surfers who were traveling from Missouri to Alaska. They introduced me to the sport of disc golf, and I came to love the sport as well as the often awesome people who play it. Because of that, I hope to spread the word about disc golf to as many people as I can through my articles, and maybe in 2012 I'll get to play a little more often too.
I've been a very passionate Oakland Raiders fan since childhood, and I'm beyond excited about the possibilities for the team this year. If they win on New Year's Day against the San Diego Chargers, and the Denver Broncos lose to the Kansas City Chiefs, they'll win the AFC West and head to the playoffs for the first time since 2002. Right now, it's hard to think of anything else but the game in three days.
Another passion I have, is the belief that you're only as young as you feel, and as long as you stay active and excited about life, you will be young! I stay active in many ways, and enjoy barefoot running, hiking, practicing yoga and Pilates, playing disc golf, and I'm usually up for any outdoor recreation and adventure... except maybe bungee jumping!
Travel is another big passion - and though I've been to most of the U.S. states, Ireland many times, and several other European and Caribbean countries, I have a long list of places to go over the next half century or so. I'm already 46, but plan on living an active and adventurous life for at least another 50 years.
So, stick with me and eventually I'll get all of my different interests organized so that if you want to just follow my Raiders passion, disc golf, or health and wellness, travel, etc, you'll be able to do that soon. In the meantime you can check out some of my latest articles under the "recent work" section.
2011 has been incredible, and I think 2012 can only get better. Here's wishing everyone has a very Happy New Year, and, Go Raiders!
After spending much of her life in a cubicle, at 40-something K.C. decided to finally LIVE. Today, she is always on some sort of adventure, or writing about it.
She hopes her journey will inspire you to do the same.
